Woman who threatened to harm children gets roughly a year in prison

Nancy Hart will serve another 354 days in custody for uttering threats and mischief in relation to threats made against two school children at Bishop Feild Elementary school in St. John’s on June 9.

She was sentenced to 450 days but was given 1.5 days’ credit for each day served since her arrest, knocking 96 days off the sentence.

She will also be placed on probation for three years following the completion of the term.

The sentence was handed down by provincial court Judge Mark Linehan.
