A shark carcass was discovered today on the beach near the Foxtrap Marina.

    Is it a Greenland shark? Hard to tell from the photo. Need a picture of the face and mouth area.

      Also the number of gill slits will be important in narrowing down shark family and genus, if not species, identification. Would be curious to know what was in its gut, if anything. Could have migrated into Conception Bay along with some of the heavy ice that filled the bay earlier in the spring.
