B.C. man arrested in St. John’s drug bust

A man from British Columbia is facing multiple drug-related charges after police seized weed and hashish on Duckworth Street in St. John’s.

Callahan Scheffer, 27, was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking of a controlled substance. Officers with Newfoundland and Labrador’s Combined Special Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant last Friday in downtown St. John’s and seized 42 pounds of marijuana and one kilogram of hashish.

According to police, the accused has already appeared in court and was released subject to a number of conditions. The investigation into Scheffer remains active.

    This stuff should be legalized. That way, the RNC wouldn't be wasting a ton of my tax dollars. This is legal in Canada for medical purposes and straight up legal in a few states now. Legalize it, regulate it, tax it and stop wasting my money.

      Absolutely, what or who is holding this issue in limbo? One time I used to think it was the conservative thinking Yanks, not so anymore, now is it the conservative Albertan?
