A 41-year-old Port aux Basques man charged in relation to a police seizure of over 3,000 ecstasy tablets and 268 grams of marijuana was in court again on Aug. 22.
The case against Chadwick Osmond has been ongoing since 2012.
In addition to the drugs, Port aux Basques RCMP also seized $9,000 in cash and had a pending charge of unsafe storage of a firearm back in Jan. 2012.
The trial has already taken place and the judge has yet to release her decision on three charges of possessing a controlled drug or substance for trafficking.
An application has also been filed in relation to the case in regards to a violation of rights against an unreasonable search and seizure.
On Aug. 22, the Crown involved with the case explained that because of staffing issues at the Port aux Basques police detachment, there has been a delay in the release of the revised information involved with the search.
The Crown was given an estimated time frame of two weeks to receive the information, which will then be forwarded to the judge.
The judge has set the matter over to Oct. 9 to allow time to review the information and to see if the information will change her decision on the matter.
