Impaired driving arrest in Spaniard’s Bay

Police arrested a man in Spaniard’s Bay Saturday morning and have charged him with impaired driving.


The driver, 52, is from Harbour Grace and reportedly had a blood-alcohol level that was three times the legal limit. Upon arrival, Trinity Conception RCMP found the man lying in the middle of the road. He was transported to a hospital in Carbonear but was not injured. Police said no one else was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The driver was released and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 8. He is facing charges of impaired driving and operation of a motor vehicle while exceeding the legal blood-alcohol limit.
