The RCMP said in a news release, the road was closed earlier this afternoon due to poor weather conditions that have contributed to several accidents in the area.
Police are also advising of poor visibility and heavy snow in the Marystown area and north on Route 210. Motorists are urged to use extra caution and avoid driving if possible until conditions improve.
The Burin RCMP detachment issued an advisory earlier this afternoon to motorists that the roads were "extremely treacherous."
Police in the area are asking people to stay off the roads if at all possible, especially in the Grand Bank, Fortune and Marystown areas.
