Man owing more than $19,000 in fines arrested for multiple traffic violations

During a traffic stop in Goulds overnight Friday, a man who owes more than $19,000 in fines was found breaking multiple traffic laws.

The 37-year-old man was pulled over around midnight. He’s been arrested and will appear in court today. He faces charges of driving while suspended, driving without insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle and having false stickers.

The vehicle was seized.

    Silver lining to this ongoing gong show of uncollected least it's money that the government never got its hands on, which means it wasn't already incinerated with the rest of it. Kind of like hiding a few bucks in a coffee jar and forgetting it was there. Pretty sad that any province should act like a 1950s housewife to make ends meet, but that's NL.

    Unfortunately these stories are so common that they can no be considered longer news. Theses individuals should receive jail time and their vehicles should be impounded and auctioned off.

    I don't know why the police even bother,$19.000 in fines already what's another $5000 he don't care like many out there,time to detach their wages like revenue Canada would do,I'm sure most of these drivers has income,or maybe it's time for the judges to step down and get a new bunch who will do a better job and jail these idiots.
