C.B.S. highway traffic stop leads to impaired driving charges

A 38-year-old man is facing charges after being pulled over by police on the Conception Bay South highway in the early hours of Sunday.

According to a police report, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s patrol services stopped the man around 2:50 a.m. and found that he was driving while impaired by alcohol. His licence was suspended and he is facing charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit for alcohol.

The man was released from custody and will face those charges in court at a later date.
