The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary had sought the public’s help in locating Pond after her disappearance, noting she was last seen in the area of the school, dressed in a black Nike windbreaker and beige Uggs, with backpack in tow.

In a statement issued today, the RNC said Pond has been located and police have ensured her safety.

They also thanked the public for their help.

At 14 she is a child, not a young woman.

I always find it odd that CBC doesn't have these Missing Child/Persons notices on the news, or even just on their website. What possible rational could there be to refuse to report on a missing Child!!??

The rationale that most of the 'missing' children are not actually missing.... They are likely group home kids that are either staying with their parents who won't report where they are, or, they just don't want to be at the group home so they stay somewhere else, with someone else's parents who won't report where they are..... I fear the day when a young person truly does go missing and actually need people to be looking for them....
