Despite the minister of Natural Resources' statement to the contrary, Motion Invest maintains it is no longer interested in the Grand Falls-Windsor mill.
That's according to a spokesman for the company.
"To be clear Motion Invests' position has not changed since its release, and we have not communicated any message to any person in government which indicated otherwise," the spokesman wrote in an e-mail to The Telegram.
Minister Kathy Dunderdale told reporters this afternoon Motion Invest could still submit a proposal to take over the shuttered paper mill, which Abitibi-Bowater closed in March 2009.
The European Investment group issued a release Tuesday saying it was no longer interested in the mill.
The company said its decision resulted from "wholly inaccurate reports and statements" about its intent.
Dunderdale told the House of Assembly last week Lott Paper - which is backed by Motion Invest - had expressed interest in the mill.
It was later reported Lott was in bankruptcy protection.
Motion Invest's statement indicated its discussions with the province were supposed to be confidential.

Bull S---!!!! --- How can you believe a company who approaches Government looking for $52 million to take over the mill when the company itself is bankrupt.

Maybe Motion Invest would hire Minister Dunderdale as a marketing spokeswoman and move her to Germany; that way we'd be rid of 'em both!
