A Gander man is facing charges of armed robbery and fraud after two incidents at convenience stores in central Newfoundland on the Victoria Day weekend.
After a lengthy investigation RCMP in Gander have charged Robert Zachery Paul, 20, with a robbery at a Trans Canada Highway Ultramar station.
Police say on May 23, Paul went into the store, masked and brandishing a pistol, and took off with $320.
The next day, officers say he stole lottery tickets from Mr. T's convenience store in the area and then returned to cash in the winning tickets with a value of $265.
Paul is facing six charges as a result and has been remanded into police custody for a Monday bail hearing.
