Update: Woman charged with robbing taxi driver consents to remand

A woman charged with robbing a cab driver overnight in St. John's consented to be remanded in custody this afternoon when she appeared in provincial court.
The woman underwent a lunch-hour psychiatric assessment and will continue with further assessment.
Krystal Maher, 21, will be back in court July 22.
According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, a woman held up the taxi with a needle and fled the scene with some cash.
The RNC overnight report states the accused was arrested and faces armed robbery, possession of a weapon and breaches of court orders.
According to the court docket Maher faces a robbery charge, but Crown prosecutor Bill Cadigan, told the Court this morning other charges are pending against Maher.
