A tractor trailer and a small sedan collided on the Trans Canada Highway about 10 kilometres west of Grand Falls-Windsor Monday. The Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP responded about 6:45 p.m.
The Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Department used the jaws of life to extract the female driver, the lone occupant of the small sedan. The driver of the sedan was transported to hospital by ambulance and is being treated for multiple injuries. The truck driver was uninjured. Damage to both vehicles was extensive. The RCMP used a collision reconstructionist at the scene and the highway was closed for about one and a half hours. The investigation is ongoing.
