Woman injured in early morning attack

A woman returning to a vessel docked in St. John's harbour early this morning was assaulted by an unknown person.
The woman was taken to hospital and treated for undisclosed injuries.
The assault happened in a laneway near Water Street after the woman had left a downtown nightclub.
Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers and the K9 unit remain on the scene investigating the incident.
