The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has released a security video of a recent armed robbery at the Subway store on Kelsey Drive in St. John's in hopes someone can help police identify the robbers.
On July 8, around 5 a.m., RNC officers responded to a call of an armed robbery at the Subway store. Two suspects entered the building wearing masks, one of whom carried a knife. One of them then demanded cash from the clerk and jumped over the counter.
The employee ran from the store through the back door and notified the police.
One suspect is described as a male, 5'6", 130 pounds, the other is described as tall and skinny. Both were in their late teens or early 20's. They used a burgundy minivan and fled the scene eastbound on Kenmount Road.
A short time later, police received a call from the Ultramar station on Kenmount Road stating that an armed robbery had just occurred.
The description of the male was similar to that of the person who left Kelsey Drive minutes earlier and also and used a burgundy minivan to get away. Information gathered from this report indicates that the second individual was female who was again described as tall and skinny.
