Arrest warrant issued for man alleged to have violently assaulted woman

The RNC child abuse and sexual assault unit has laid charges against a St. John's man allegedly involved in a violent assault on a woman in a downtown alleyway early Wednesday morning.
The man is not in custody, but an arrest warrant has been issued.
The woman was returning to a cruise ship she worked on when she was assaulted in the alleyway between Water Street and Harbour Drive around 3:15 a.m.
The arrest warrant names Manuel John Clark (aka) John Clark, 34, last living at 1-C Colonial St. in St. John's. He is known to frequent the downtown area and is considered to be violent, according to the RNC.
Clark is described as 5'8" 150 lbs with short/collar length dark hair, gaunt face with dominant facial lines. He is unshaven.
