Car fleeing police crashes into fence, charges pending

Springdale RCMP responded to a complaint of an assault late Wednesday night in the central Newfoundland town.
When the police arrived on the scene, the suspects were observed driving down the street.
RCMP officers activated emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle but it sped up, lost control and crashed into a fence on Bayview Road.
There were no injuries in the collision.
Three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and charges pending include dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and impaired operation of a motor vehicle. An assault charge is also pending as a result of the original complaint.
