Rumours swirling as RCMP cordon off area near Sheshatshiu

There was a sense of shock and concern in the Innu community of Sheshatshiu Friday as members of the RCMP moved in to cordon off a trail and wooded area near Mackenzie Street.
The RCMP issued a news release Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. saying they are investigating a suspicious death in Shesahatshiu.
Investigators were waiting for the RCMPâmajor crime unit and forensic identification teams to arrive at the scene, which remained cordoned off by yellow police tape.
RCMP advised the public there are no safety concerns stemming from this incident.
Earlier Friday morning, word got around, via Facebook, that a young girl from Natuashish was missing in Sheshatshiu.
Local residents organized a search party around 1 p.m., but the search never got started, as RCMP officers had already discovered her body.
