A good column that is a 180 degrees from the Telegram's own editorial on this issue barely two weeks ago. Yes, it was obvious that an outgoing, disgruntled, frustrated, devious, incompetent minister of fisheries, Darin King, had decided to set up McCurdy as the 'fall guy' for turning OCI down on its proposal to process more of our fish in China. The union saw through it, as did a majority of the public, but - for reasons unknown - the Tely went along with the set-up. It wasn't Wangersky's writing - who I think was away - so my guess it was someone doing a favour for OCI. The main thing is it didn't work. It is clear that the new minister of fisheries does not want to repeat the mistakes of his failed, one-year predecessors (Jackman and King) by beginning his tenure with a decision that would send the wrong signal to the fish processing sector in this province.
