Sobey's on Torbay Rd in St John's had a full shelf of Fussels and Carnation on Sep 27. I picked up a tin of Fussels for 2.49. When I went back 2 days later, all the Fussels was cleared out, but there was still a full stack of Carnation.

Further to my previous comment: Here is a link to a comprehensive article regarding Canada's supply management system: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/commentary/canadians-care-about-their-dairy-supply-not-economics-101/article13416312/ That article explains better than I ever could what I mean when I say we would all be worse off without the quota system.

Ms. Muzychka, I hope for your sake and mine that the quota system you refer to stays put - or we'll have far more to gripe about than being deprived of a certain brand of imported cream.

Thanks, Martha for taking the time to bring this to the attention of the public. I went through the exact panic last Christmas, and also found a stash at the Blackmarsh Dominion. When I picked up as many as I could carry, others were doing the same. At the time I was getting treatment at St.Clare's and the shortage was the dominant talk- where will we get our cream for baking? People were trying to order it abroad, traveling from store to store in hopes of finding a stash, and there was indeed a mass panic among the bakers. I also wondered if there was hidden cartel putting the squeeze on us all. As they say, follow the money.....
