No offense, but why was it "too bad" that it was St. Louis & Texas in the World Series? Because the "big boys" aka the Yankees & Red Sox aren't in it? Haven't we seen enough Yankees & Red Sox already? This year's World Series was one of the best in years, & Game 6 was one for the ages. St. Louis deserved to win their 11th championship. There are more than just two or three teams in baseball just so you know. St. Louis is also one of the more popular franchises in baseball as well. Does baseball always need the Yankees & Red Sox in the World Series? Maybe you'd prefer that the Yanks & Sawx get a BYE into the World Series every year I suppose LOL. As for the Habs, well, Perry Pearn was let go only because they had to look high & low for a scapegoat to their early slow start. Granted though, they've won 2 straight since, so...who knows...?
