Where is the published data on sea water temperature changes which is a good indicator of what species prospers in the ocean. Scientists not allowed to comment ?

What has changed? ......The politicians and DFO allowed the wishes (demands?) of the industrial/business fishing sector to determine a course of action that effectively wiped out the cod. Now the same corporate/business/industrial nature of the fishery (again fostered, supported and blindly implemented by the politicians and DFO) is being followed with respect to the shell fishery. We have the financial, technical, industrial capacity to wipe out a renewable resource that could and should be protected and utilized in a manner that maximizes its natural productive capacity. Instead it is being used by the politically influential industrial sector as a "cash crop" resource. ----- Quick, easy money (little or no processing) for the purpose of making a few people rich.

So who will the fishers blame this time? And even though the blame game does nothing to bring back a devastated stock it does highlight the history of the fishery. Even as a boy I watched as fisherman destroyed tom cods by the thousands EVERY day and wondered how long things could last.........not much more then 10 years!
