Dear "Choice", I would suggest that the abortion rate would decline dramatically if information on contraception and contraceptive options was provided to teenagers and young women in school, and by their own parents, at an earlier age; if contraceptives were easily available and reasonably priced; and if the guilt/stigma associated with asking for the products in pharmacies was reduced or eliminated. Teaching teenage boys and young men "that it takes two to tango" and that they will bear moral and financial responsibilty for their actions would also help reduce the numbers of unwanted pregnancies. The pro-life "Just Say No To Sex Education" philosophy has been proven to be an abject failure. In the USA, the states that offer "Abstinence Only" sex education programs - the southern Bible Belt states - are also the ones that suffer the highest teenage pregnancy rates, highest rates of illiteracy, lowest numbers of high school graduates, highest rates of poverty and lowest average wages.Closer to home, it has been suggested that the recent spike in teenage pregnancy rates in NL and NB is directly attributable to poor academic achievement (failure to graduate from high school) and a lack of employment opportunities for women in rural areas. It is a complex problem. Since you seem so willing to remove the right of women to make their own reproductive choices, can I assume that you are willing to pay the costs associated with helping those women raise them?

The fact that Jackman is still even an MHA after the last election amazes me.

Maybe if we stopped killing off our children by abortion, our school will not be so empty. Right now there is about 1 child aborted for every 4 or 5 born alive. It is a shame.
