One point that this article is missing is that even though the Angels have certainly been present in Newfoundland for decades, the drug trade is only now escalating to the levels which precede the level of violence that we are witnessing. The average Newfoundlander didn't have bank accounts full of disposable income 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Now, every Joe with a trade that works in oil and gas or Long Harbour has money to burn, and a lot of them are turning to the harder drugs and prostitution on their downtime. Also, the Angels aren't here fighting amongst themselves. Another gang is probably trying to establish roots in the province and the Angels are defending their territory..... at least that is what SOA would have us believe is happening, haha.
