I agree Chantal, that US government payout was labeled by some as the biggest "welfare" payment ever made. And the frightening thing we also learned was that in spite of all their depositors and all their issued stocks, the banks were broke and had to be bailed out. And David writes and complains about a "few", in comparison, EI and welfare recipients? Heartless indeed- I hope he never finds himself in the same position as those unfortunates, none of them can steal anywhere like some are said to do.

"Some will profit, some will lose” I have no problem with developing our resources in an environmentally sustainable way. When the housing bubble burst, how much did the Wall Street “risk takers” lose? Nothing, they made record profits, bolstered by free government money. Why should we trust the corporate bona fides with our environment? It's always the same people who profit and the same who lose.
