Now that Mother Nature is finally giving us a few nice — baseball cap instead of toque — days I have turned to walking to a lot of the places I have to go.
Recently, my walking took me to Michael’s and Dominion on Stavanger Drive. When I left Dominion, I had to go to Major’s Path.
It was a beautiful day, so I decided to walk. I walked to the intersection and traffic lights near Dominion. Then I took the sidewalk. When I got to the other exit of Dominion, the sidewalk ended, so I had to cross Stavanger Drive where there is no traffic light and no walk signal.
Traffic ended and someone — thank you — stopped to let me cross Stavanger Drive.
From there, I walked to the end of Stavanger Drive, only to find that I had to cross Stavanger Drive again to get to the crosswalk sign across Torbay Road. Then, I had to wait for another light to cross Torbay Road!
This short walk would not be as treacherous if I did not have to cross a Stavanger Drive intersection without a crosswalk or traffic light.
Now that Stavanger Drive is built up from Dominion to Torbay Road, is the city going to put a sidewalk there all the way to Torbay Road?
