Ships and stories

Recently the St. John’s Port Authority gave as one of the reasons for closing off the waterfront was that it needed the spaces — every metre it could get.

If that is, in fact, the case I have a question: why are ships like the Lady Remington II allowed to take up space on the waterfront year after year gathering rust and rats?

And what of the Charlene Hunt attracting further rust, rats, investigations and  mutters from the same port authority?

What’s with all of this?
