Harper does the Seinfeld shuffle

This is undoubtedly the Seinfeld Shuffle (a shuffle about nothing). Or, put another way, it is the election shuffle. Never let this federal government tell you they didn't start the campaign first ... the 2015 election campaign.
If this shuffle was to reflect contrition and transparency, in the search for elusive ratings (they've been on life support, let's face it, since Feb. 6, 2006), they ... he'd have lopped-off some of the front bench.

In a rather patronizing move, they promote from the back benches (younger and women MPs) into the Parliamentary secretary and non-front bench portfolios, which you expect any PM to do within the equality filter, for sure.

This shuffle was supposed to be tectonic but was rather Uncle-magician in its strategy. If and when - more bets are on when - Obama agrees with the Keystone pipeline, then why wouldn't you shuffle out a Joe Oliver?

Anyone could have been a minister in there ... when the Keystone was approved!

This is a shell game. Let's not be fooled.

Fracking in your neighbourhood (West Coast, nudge nudge, wink wink?) Let's be careful. But, then again, we're still ABC, but let's park our vote even more solidly next time.

They started the campaign, whether we knew it or not, today. Let's rise to their challenge and keep our eyes on the prize in 2015.
