On Aug. 22, Cathy Bennett, a former chair of Nalcor’s board and current Liberal leadership candidate, said: “I don’t believe water management will affect Muskrat Falls.”

In November 2009, Nalcor told the Public Utilities Board that without a water management agreement, “In many months, the Lower Churchill facilities would have insufficient water for production requirements during periods of reduced production at Churchill Falls.”

Bennett’s belief — that water management won’t affect Muskrat Falls — contradicts Nalcor’s 2009 representation to the PUB that a water management agreement is necessary in order for Nalcor to meet production requirements at Muskrat Falls.

Why is a tory running for the liberals anyway? Maybe she's just a steward sent to protect business interests. We been there and got that T-shirt before, besides her buddy Dean sure supports her. Maybe the Liberal party is just another franchise to take over for the business savy Cathy. She seems to know all about MRF after being the chair of the Nalcor board, but won't or can't let everyone else know what's actually going on due to Bill 29. I think the last thing NL needs is to have another Cathy or Kathy in charge of this place. The Kathy we have now has gotten more perks of NL then NL has ever gotten out of her. And as for the other Cathy, maybe she will turn the Liberal party into a Happy meal, Cheap and virtually worthless when it comes to nutrients. I'm that curious now that I would vote anyone in to find out just what Dunderdale and company have been doing behind closed doors. And so should the rest of NL.
