If Dunderdale won’t go, expect freefall to continue

I was surprised when reading the  Sept. 21 Telegram to see that there are people who still have their blinders on and think that Kathy Dunderdale’s government is doing a bang-up job of running the province.

Not only are they so delusional as to think that the premier and her lackeys are doing such a wonderful job but they have become highly incensed that Telegram columnists dare bring to the fore the blunders, mismanagement and autocracy that Dunderdale has exhibited. I guess that these poor people just can’t handle the truth.

The polls put the Dunderdale regime in the basement of the popularity and satisfaction standings, yet they still sing the praises of their beloved premier. One of the members of Dunderdale’s minute fan club actually put down a previous writer of a letter to the editor who had the unmitigated gall to complain about the unfairness of the abhorred Bill 29 and he was told more or less to stop his sobbing and suck it up — just lie there and take it complacently like his Kathy wants us all to do while she rides roughshod over democratic rights.

It appears the premier isn’t as repulsed by Stephen Harper as she let on after he double-crossed her (like many people foretold was inevitable) in a previous federal election and is following his method of leadership to the finest detail.

Those who write in defence of the present government are no doubt members of the party faithful who are enlisted to voice their disgust if anyone dare to expose the many faults of the premier, her government and her way of doing things while keeping the electorate in the dark about the day-to-day workings of the government machine.

The Progressive Conservative MHAs have completely lost sight of the fact that they are, in fact, our employees, as our hard-earned dollars pay their exorbitant salaries, yet they are under the impression that Dunderdale is the absolute ruler and we are mere serfs in her own private fiefdom. As long as she continues to, as she put it, “stay the course” her popularity, especially, and that of her party, will keep plummeting.

When the next election comes around, the only votes she will get will be from the very naïve and gullible.

Bill 29 has just decimated this government and they just can't see it. The arrogance is astounding.
