Two things...Dept of Transportation has nothing to do with this section of the road, it's Federal! And another thing...how would one expect to do any repairs on the road without any delays? Geoff...you should go to Ontario sometime, this is a regular occurrence. I swear some people think you can do repairs without any interruptions! I guess it's something else to complain about. We all know there are road repairs going on, thus we need to allow for delays when travelling.

What's the alternative? Unacceptable roads?

Our roadwork is similar to how it was done in the 50' & 60's. Contractors just don't give a shag because there are little or no regulations to control their conduct.

I got stuck at a culvert replacement on the TCH near Benton (15min from Gander) for almost two hours one weekday evening in early August. Much too long a delay.

Nobody thinks it’s a good plan to delay hundreds of long-weekend travellers to this completely unreasonable extent. Lack of a plan is the cause, not over planning. Ontario or Quebec have other highways besides the TCH. The chaos in CBS this week has overshadowed this. Hug your Mom a little extra and realize that we all got it pretty damn good, if this is al there is to complain about.
