The Christmas spirit is alive and well in St. John’s.
Recently, I was at the post office in Churchill Square buying large envelopes and filling one to mail.
I waited patiently in the lineup and when my turn came, imagine my frustration and embarrassment on opening my purse to find that I had left my wallet and money at home.
To the rescue
Then, to my great surprise, a voice behind me said, “That’s OK, Ma’am, I will pay for that, don’t worry about it.”
I thanked him with tears in my eyes, and I hope the opportunity arises for me to do a similar kindness to someone.
Merry Christmas to my kind friend.
