Unfortunately we only hear about the bad when it comes to health care, it is all too familiar. I would like to give a different outlook.

Recently my husband was rushed to the emergency deptartment of St. Clare’s Hospital and from there was admitted to the CCU unit where we spent five days, then on to 7 East for 10 days. I have nothing negative to say about the care my husband was given. The CCU staff were extraordinary. They took the time to explain everything that was happening to me whether it was bad or good. I left the hospital in the night time less stressed, knowing that I understood what was going on with my husband. That is a good feeling. The staff on 7 East were special, too. They kept all information up front so I could understand the care my husband was to need on discharge. All staff were available if and when I had any questions.  Again I would like to thank the staff for their care and time. Please remember they are there to help — just ask.

The only thing I do not understand is the availability of the cafeteria which closes at  2 p.m. during the week and is not open on the weekend. This is sad. I spent every day from morning to night and could not avail of a coffee or muffin. Maybe things need to change there.
