Bringing home the bacon

I hope I am not the only one to notice that the price of a pack of bacon has doubled in the last year, so what’s up?

Do Canadian pigs eat double what they ate last year or are  pork producers getting a bigger income? We used to have 500 gram packs, now 375 gram and even 250 gram packs.

Now I feel like a pig when I finish off a 250 gram pack on my own on a Saturday morning scoff.

While I’m at it, what’s happened to a loaf of bread?

First 670 grams now 500 grams, with slices so small I can’t find them in my toaster.

What next?

Smaller toasters?

Any way, tonight I hear on CBC News that Russian President Vladimir Putin is banning all Canadian pork (bacon) for at least the next year.

So, will this move of his bring the Canadian pork producers back to their senses, and if it doe, maybe he will ban all ingredients that go into our bread?

Anyway, there is no harm in asking him.

Now, where is his email address?
