Already fenced

King Stephen has decreed that St. John’s harbour should be off limits to his subjects. Sure, what odds? There’s a phantom fence all around Newfoundland anyway. Try going out in your dory to catch a cod.

We should rejoice and offer King Stephen maybe $500,000; sort of a Christmas thank-you gift for closing down the search and rescue centre.

I think we should keep the half-

million and build a nice fence to protect the relatively new and beautiful bandstand in bucolic Bannerman Park. What? We’ve done that already! Well, maybe we could use it to build a nice high fence along the highway, both sides, from St. John’s to Port aux Basques. Keep those pesky subjects away from their foolishness like berry-picking, hunting and hiking. That would help keep us on our long and winding road.

The proponents of this fence are Sean Hanrahan and Dennis O'Keeve...along with the rest of his councillors.

Derm, the fence is compliments of our own power-hungry Sean Hanrahan. He, like O'Keefe, can't seem to get their stories straight whether it's for economic reasons, jobs, or the ever popular 9-11 (even 'tho that part is 11 years old). So give discredit where its due. You could also include every councillor of the city. Duff crawled back to be included in the vote and O'leary was just posturing.

I figure that The mayor is looking for his own Legacy Project now that he's on the back 9 of his career. Things aren't so important any more; IE, like public opinion.
