A sea-change in nations

With a reluctance of most writers to abstain from words and thoughts which would be considered controversial, as I reach the end of my time due to age, I feel that for the first time in 1,000 years, Western nations are no longer the dominant factor in determining world peace.

A new fact has entered our world, and the single word is "immigration," the world wide expectation of assimilation of overseas Chinese people.

Ethnicity plays a role

It is important to note that the Chinese government (the People's Republic of China) believe that it is their right to establish that they identify a person by ethnic origin instead of nationality so that, as long as that person is of Chinese descent, then that person is still considered Chinese.

The major nations, excluding China and India, are being depleted by low birth and high mortality rates, and today the people from the far east are on the march, searching out such countries as Australia, Canada, Argentina, Brazil and Russia that have large tracts of grain lands with the potential of feeding the world, and investing in their oil, mineral and forestry corporations.

Changing world

Today, representatives of China are roaming the world looking for adequate investments for their nation.

These are well-educated young professionals looking for countries with potential, starting in Canada - one of the largest geographic countries of the world and today one of the largest open-door immigration policies - then Australia, then Russia.

What we are seeing is the beginning of a new empire, with the Chinese upstaging the position of the United States.

It is to be noted that the federal government was aware that the Peoples Republic of China's state-owned oil company Sinopec had invested in the Alberta oil sands company of Syncrude.

However, according to the basic principle of investing or lending, money has no allegiance and large infusions of capital will be beneficial to Canada's overall economy.

This is not like the Greek, Roman, or Napoleonic empires gaining acquisitions by war, nor the British empire by colonization, or the American nation governing economic countries in trouble, such as it has in the past with Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Different kind of empire

What I am predicting is that, within three or four decades, these countries will be predominately populated by the peoples of China and India, and there will be significant assimilation between the western and Asian countries.

I further believe that the days of racial and other ethnic war-like peoples is now a thing of the past.

The key is the word immigration.

The Chinese world-wide emigration is a friendly one - not a takeover by military force nor by colonization nor by aiding anemic-economic nations and governments - but by simply building up the populations of low birth and mortality rates with their overseas Chinese people.

It is a new way to become a friendly empire - populate your peoples in select countries and invest heavily in the natural resource companies.

To summarize, the title to a book by Pearl Buck (1933) is appropriate, "All Men are Brothers."
