I am writing to say how impressed I was with the prompt medical attention I received at the St. John’s Health Sciences Centre.
I was there because I had tripped and fallen while walking my daughter’s two small dogs down a gravel embankment.
With sharp pain persisting the next morning, we set off for the Emergency Department, books in hand to make it through a long days’ wait.
Not even one page was turned, however, because I was evaluated, registered, X-rayed and had a temporary cast put on a broken ankle — all in two hours. I was home by lunchtime, learning how to cope with crutches. My temporary cast will get me home to Nova Scotia.
Everyone I met at the hospital was professional, caring and personable. I appreciated the quality of care I received and the fact that there was no waiting!
