Awed by display of musical talent

As a transplanted Newfoundlander enjoying my annual summer trip “home,” I was fortunate enough on Aug. 9 to experience an incredible evening of musical theatre at the LSPU Hall in St. John’s.

“Along the Way” featured songs from musical theatre by singer, actor and dancer James Daly, with David Chafe accompanying on the piano. Several other talented young St. John’s singers were featured throughout the evening.

I was completely blown away by the talent, professionalism, and “star power” of James Daly. David Chafe — an awesome talent himself — pointed out, rightly, that James deserves to and will become a major star.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the production! It makes me so proud and happy to see this group of young people committed to performing musical theatre in our city.
