As another school year begins on Sept. 5, I think about my Grade 11 class.
It was 50 years ago that the new Brother Rice High School opened in St. John’s.
Students came to the new school from St. Bon’s and St. Pat’s.
Many students were also bussed in from outlying communities.
These hundreds of young men came together to build the foundation for a school which contributed so much to the academic, cultural and sports life of the city and the province.
Proud legacy
Congratulations to today’s students and teachers.
A special hello and best wishes to all my classmates of 1962-63.
