The man in airport heights was hit by an impaired driver who was charged. So we assume this was the reason for the infraction. As a Taxi Driver I have also seen many accidents caused by people giving breaks in the wrong place at the wrong time. And no William you should not get out of your car in the middle of a busy street. There is definitely a hostility out there on the road these days I mean an elderly lady in front of the Basilica on a Sunday, what else can you say.

Willy, I say a woman knocked down last summer because an impatient driver thought he had waited too long to and pulled out hitting the woman ON A CROSS WALK. That was after mass on a Sunday infront of the Basicilca. So your theory does not wash. People with poor driving skills simply don't care who is in their way, point is they are in their way and the all important driver is in a "hurry" The elderly lady in my case simply walked too slowy and for that was ran down on a crosswalk. So the problem my dear is the DRIVERS who don't follow the rules.

I think you mean Cornwall ave. because Cornwall cres. is a street with very little traffic.I guess there was no crosswalk because you never mentioned one. Maybe you should be a little more careful on where you choose to stop your car/or pick-up to give a pedestrian a break sometimes you can do more harm than good, maybe the driver behind was not able to see around your vehicle and thought you were turning left ,who knows. I would not stop to let someone cross the street unless they were at a xwalk, 1. it is not safe to stop unexpectedly if there is other traffic behind you 2. If you are the only car it would be better just for you to pass by and they can cross when you are gone that way no body gets hit by a car.
