Seems to be a lot like the politics of Peter Cashin's/ Squires era. Read his book. The public had little knowledge of what was going on, and rioted only when it was too late, having been led into bankrupsy by corrupt politicans, whichever party. Now , we're supposed to be educated , with open democracy, and an engaged public. What's our excuse if we are again led into financial disaster by a few who can profit from the public purse. Are we really "too green to burn" as Morine once said? It's sad to see most defer to those in power, at a time when every stone should be turned to ensure and prove this Muskrat Falls scheme doesn't cripple our financial standing and our future. This power for the island may be needed some time in the future, but likely not for decades as there are cheaper and better alternatives that are being ignored. To gauge the intergity of politicans, the past is a guide to the present. Little but the faces have changes from the times when a handful of merchants controlled our destiny here. Guess that's how democracy works, here anyway.

Mr. Smith, regarding Len Simms, you say "He resigned this position to run the PC campaign during the last election." Nothing Could Be Further From The Truth.™ He resigned from this position twice, to run the PC campaigns during the last TWO elections.

Mr. Smith you bring up an interesting point, politicians and integrity, the oxymoron comes to my mind!
