The letter to the editor “An appeal to reason,” by Wayne Norman (Sept. 15) under the guise of addressing the question of euthanasia was nothing but an ignorant, intolerant and bigoted attack on people of faith in general and the Catholic Church in particular. Mr. Norman’s vitriolic opinion of and lack of respect for people who do not see the world as he does puts him outside the bounds of civilized behaviour.The tenor of the article and its final sentence, “Sadly perhaps, we do not choose those we have to share the cosmos with” makes me thankful that he does not have the power to decide who lives and who dies.
