Attack on the Church

The letter to the editor “An appeal to reason,” by Wayne Norman (Sept. 15) under the guise of addressing the question of euthanasia was nothing but an ignorant, intolerant and bigoted attack on people of faith in general and the Catholic Church in particular. Mr. Norman’s vitriolic opinion of and lack of respect for people who do not see the world as he does puts him outside the bounds of civilized behaviour.The tenor of the article and its final sentence, “Sadly perhaps, we do not choose those we have to share the cosmos with” makes me thankful that he does not have the power to decide who lives and who dies.

The catholice church has proven to a corrupt regime with deception being their main characteristic. Money laundering, murder, horrific sexual abuse and the subjugation of women are just a few of their traits. I would rather put my faith in the tooth fairy or Santa Claus.

"Mr. Norman's vitriolic opinion and lack of respect for people who do not see the world as he does puts him outside the bounds of civilized behaviour." Moral "lessons" delivered by Catholic and other religious zealots are above criticism, but when one points out the (many) flaws in their arguments and pronouncements, one is "uncivilized". Oh, the irony.
