The Senate of Canada isn’t asleep after all.
The most useless Upper Chamber in Canada just voted that Senator Patrick Brazeau take a leave of absence with pay for recent alleged actions.
Now that the public eye is on them, let’s go further.
Everyone in that appointed pork barrel should be monitored far more closely than they currently are when submitting their expense claims to government.
Any senator found misrepresenting their expense claims for personal financial gain should be forced to repay all money owing to the Canadian treasury.
While they are in their current voting mood, the senators should now take a second vote and give Canadians something to really cheer about and at the same time save millions for Canadian taxpayers.
The motion will simply read: all in favour of abolishing the Senate by 2014?
The only acceptable answer that Canadian taxpayers want to hear is, “Yea.” I say by 2014 because, after all, we have to give them time to pack their bags and find new accommodations. However, they will not be allowed to claim any expenses.
The time has come for this unwanted, privileged Upper Chamber to do the right thing and abolish itself as soon as possible. If not, the people of Canada will soon do it for you.

ELI, you make a very good point. But, the only recall opportunity we have is the provincial election process, Eli. Perhaps, the geneal public should have a 'method' to challenge the worth of a politician i.e. challenge his/her right to remain in office for the remainder of a mandated period. A recall method, of sorts! Sounds good to me, ELI. What do you think?
