Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 marked the 6oth anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II ascending the throne of Great Britain and the Commonwealth. To mark the occasion His Honour Lt.-Gov. John Crosbie and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie held a Diamond Jubilee reception for invited guests at Government House. Guests were representatives of many organizations for which their honours serve as patrons and those that carry the prefix Royal. Guests were invited to sign a congratulatory book to be forwarded to Her Majesty, treated to musical entertainment, witness the unveiling of a newly revamped Internet site for Government House and view a display of memorabilia from previous Royal Visits to the province. Telegram photographer Gary Hebbard recorded the event with his camera.
