Tely Hike
The Biscan Cove and Stiles Cove paths of the East Coast Trail were busier than usual Saturday as the 12th annual East Coast Trail Tely Hike took place with hikers young and old taking to the trails. The Tely Hike is an annual fundraiser for the trail sponsored by The Telegram. Hikers are asked to donate a minimum entry fee and then are bused to different starting points depending on the person’s skill or fitness level. While the weather wasn’t exactly pleasant for most of the hike Saturday with a cold wind blowing from the ocean, forecast rain showers stayed away for the most part. A social following the hike at the Anglican Church Hall in Pouch Cove gave people a chance to warm up with a hot beverage and some food. Entertainment was also provided.
