Farmer's market

The weekly farmers’ market in the center of St. John’s was busy as usual Saturday even as rain peppered the popular event on Aug. 18, 2012. Hundreds of people turned out the market to buy fresh vegetables and baked goods as well as to try out some of the different ethnic foods available. The market, which is at the Lion’s Club Chalet on Bonaventure Avenue, also features some crafts for sale. The St. John’s Farmer’s Market is run by volunteers and is open from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Photos and text by Keith Gosse/The Telegram
