Rockslide on TCH near North West Brook

A rockslide near North West Brook on the Trans Canada Highway Saturday afternoon caused the closer of the highway in both directions. The Department of Transportation and Works crews were busy during the weekend clearing the debris and the section of the TCH will remain closed for a few days as the rock wall is tested to ensure public safety. These photos were taken by the RCMP on Saturday before crews arrived at the site, and on Sunday as crews worked to remove the rocks. Traffic is being re-routed through Ivany’s Cove. — Photos submitted by the RCMP
