As expected, they made their cases and won their trials at Quidi Vidi.

Just as they did in Placentia and Harbour Grace, crews sponsored by law firms have won the championships in the 2012 Royal St. John's Regatta.

Rogers Bussey Lawyers won the men's championship Wednesday evening at Quidi Vidi Lake in an official time of nine minutes and 6.64 seconds while Roebothan McKay Marshall earlier took the women's crown in an official time of 5:04.18.

Both crews are triple crown winners having each won championships in earlier regattas at Placentia and Harbour Grace.

It was a great day at the races for me and my family. The crews were all terrific to watch and the attractions, food, games etc. were a great treat. We won a prize and supported the charities of our choice.Congratulations to the Regetta Committee and every rowing team. You are all champions.Extra cheers to the 2 championship crews. It has been many years since I mingled in such a large regetta crowd. It was great to also mix with young people again whom I seldom see in such numbers in one place any more.My body ain't what it once was but it carried me through a great ,wonderful, beautiful, happy day and surely one could wish for no more.Keep up the great efforts aand make the regetta a lasting day in the history of this Province.KUDOS!!!!!!!!!!
