The Compass has learned that the CeeBee Stars have parted ways with head coach Corey Crocker.

A senior official with the club has confirmed that the CeeBees informed Crocker of the decision Monday morning (Feb. 11).

The move comes a day after the CeeBees defeated the Gander Flyers 5-3 and clinched the final spot in the playoffs of the province-wide Newfoundland Senior Hockey League.

The team is scheduled set to start its Herder Memorial Trophy semifinals with the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts this coming weekend at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium in Grand Falls-Windsor.

A successor has not yet been named.

Attempts to contact Crocker were unsuccessful.

next thing they'll bring back another feller from town, one of moores old buddies. We had a local coach, a damn good one, and now you are getting rid of him when we makes the playoffs. does this mean that the bald feller that fills the bottles will be a coach? You had to bring him from town and pay him to fill the bottles. You wants to talk about wasting money, you mean to tell me nobody from the bay can fill a water bottle? I'd rather have me local coach than a H2o sideshow from town. The town wants answers and can't get none. Sammy is right, we pays for the tickets, why can't we know. Until we all hears, good luck with the playoffs, we won't be there to watch. Sell the shop, tis just as well, yous flys by the seats of yer pants anyhow.

Is this because they won 2 games? This is a big kick to the guts of Crocker. He got them a pile of sponsors this year and now they win two games and all of a sudden its his fault they didnt the start of the year. It can't be to cut costs, they was on here saying that his flights was paid for by a sponsor. Now what is the reason. Write about that Nicholas, tell the fans, the ones who pays to see em play. We all wants to know.
